Spencer Lee Wilson – A Huddersfield Live event
Fri 26 Apr, 8:30 pm–10:00 pm
About the event
A Huddersfield Live event in the HuddLitFest Tipi.
An evening with Spencer Lee Wilson (aka The Dead Poet) and special guests ‘Ink Spill’. Enjoy a performance of original acoustic songs and short story readings from All My Ghosts.
Spencer’s emotive vocal delivery and lyrical storytelling, raises the spectre of human mortality through themes of time, love, nostalgia, loss, regret and redemption.
He will be joined on stage by Abbi and Hannah, founders of the wonderful Ink Spill, who will be reading a selection of the short stories from the All My Ghosts book.
Spencer will also recount the story of how one song on the album – ‘Ballad of the Wild Flowers’ – influenced by tragedy in the podcast S-town, took him from playing in the kitchen at home to opening the Woodstock Music Festival in Alabama (note: contains references to suicide and suicide prevention).
Spencer Lee Wilson (aka The Dead Poet), is a Huddersfield-based singer-songwriter. His original acoustic tracks and lyrical storytelling skim across the genres of folk, country, indie rock and americana. Spencer also describes himself as a lazy poet – his book of short stories, All My Ghosts, is an accompaniment to his album of the same name.
