A free fun storytelling session for primary school age children with inspirational author Brian Abram, AKA Grandad Wheels.
Grandad Wheels will chat about his life as a wheelchair user then read one of his stories, with audience participation and a question-and-answer session.
Children will then be guided in a drawing activity to design a futuristic wheelchair.
There will be 40 free copies of Grandad Wheels’ books to be given out to the children attending.
Booking advised but not essential.
“Thank you so much for visiting our school, we really enjoyed your visit. The children really enjoyed the workshop, designing their futuristic wheelchair. Your positivity and dynamic approach to the children was lovely to see.”

Brian Abram is a children’s author from Halifax. His stories, The Adventures of Grandad Wheels!, are based on the escapades he has with his grandson Charlie – and their vivid imaginations! His first book Charlie’s Big Idea! was published in 2019 and Roald Dahl’s illustrator Quentin Blake said: “It’s an impressive piece of work!” All of the money he makes from book sales and school visits go to two charities that help people with spinal injuries.
