Professor Angela Gallop began her career in forensic science in 1974, as a senior biologist in the Home Office Forensic Science Service. In 1986, she set up Forensic Access to ensure that defence lawyers had access to the same skills and expertise as the prosecution. In 1997 she co-founded Forensic Alliance, the first alternative source of comprehensive forensic services for police and other investigators. In 2015, Professor Gallop was awarded a CBE for her services to forensic science. Her first book, When the Dogs Don’t Bark: A Forensic Scientist’s Search for the Truth, was published in 2019.
