WORKSHOP: Poetry – Finding Your Voice
Sat 01 Apr, 11:00 am–1:00 pm

About the event
Sangam Festival presents an interactive poetry workshop with Sharena Lee Satti. Finding your voice is one of the greatest challenges of writing poetry. Published poet Sharena Lee Satti will ease you gently into the world of creative writing, as you explore poetry in a friendly group.
No experience required, just an open mind and a willingness to try something new. Whether you are an established poet or just starting out, all are welcome. Let’s find your poetic voice together.
Sharena Lee Satti is a Bradford-based spoken word artist, poet, event host, poetry workshop facilitator and educator. Her book SHE was published in 2020 (The Verve Poetry Press) and her new collection will be out in 2023. Sharena’s poetry draws on her own life experiences, struggles, cultural identity and upbringing, often addressing challenging themes. She was nominated as a ‘Positive Role Model’ at the National Diversity Awards and hosts her own monthly radio poetry show, Spoke.
Sharena is an experienced poetry workshop tutor who has worked with people of all ages and backgrounds in many settings. She is passionate about art and the positive effect of creativity for health and wellbeing.
