Workshop – Write + Perform Your Own Rap (Ages 13-16)

About the event
Kirklees Year of Music 2023 and HLF present: a workshop for young people age 13-16 who want to learn how to write and perform raps. Join world championship winning rapper and poet Rob Bradley and come and spit your bars.
The workshop will be an engaging mix of games, writing challenges and performance. Full of music, words and creativity, it is designed to help young people engage with a new form of writing, explore creative ideas and experiment with performance.
Participants can choose whether or not they wish to be accompanied by an adult, however, only the participant is required to book a place.
Note: our workshop tutor Rob Bradley is DBS checked.

Rob Bradley is the Lead Facilitator and Artist at The Rap School (www.therapschool.com). He uses rap and spoken word poetry as an alternative way to teach literacy, poetic techniques and vocabulary, through creative writing and performance.

Age guidance: 13-16 (participants may be accompanied by an adult but not essential)
