Description

Women’s Refugee Writing Group (Sharing Our Stories): …. where people meet to share their story of how/why they left their country, how they got to the UK, their impressions of life when they first arrived here, what life in the UK is like for them now and about their ambitions, hopes and aspirations for the future.

Our World, My Story Photograph exhibition: We believe that we are all looking for similar things in life even if we have different ways of achieving those goals. This exhibition will introduce some of the refugees who have sought sanctuary in Huddersfield. It will show how they are re-building their lives with courage, dignity, resilience and kindness.

One World Craft Group: …where refugees and local people get together, create beautiful craft work reflecting shared ideas and talent from a broad range of cultural/national backgrounds. Our time together brings peace, happiness and fun and highlights exactly what we have in common regardless of where we come from.

Our craft and writing groups will join forces to participate in the annual Huddersfield Literature Festival. We are all thrilled to have this exciting opportunity to meet and work with people who share our enthusiasm for expressing life experiences through creativity. We believe that this will strengthen links with our local community and intensify perceptions of our common humanity.
