To make it easier for you attend our events, we have commissioned AccessAble to produce Access Guides to our key venues. These are added to and updated annually for accuracy.
AccessAble visits and surveys each venue using a survey method that 800 groups of disabled people have helped to develop. Guides are accurate, reliable and presented in a user-friendly format.Access Guides
Every year we invest in live subtitling at a number of events to make them accessible to people who are deaf, deafened and hard of hearing. This is provided by Stagetext, a charity that aims to improve access to the performing arts.
Look out for the Stagetext logo displayed next to events with live subtitling. While most of our events have unallocated seating, we often reserve seating for those using the subtitling. Please check when booking and ask our stewards on arrival at the venue.Find out more
We welcome performers of all kinds and do not discriminate on the grounds of disability.
Most performers are booked through publishers but for direct approaches, we ask that you fill out our Expression of Interest form.Expression of Interest
Our dedicated team of volunteers are offered a range of training sessions in the run up to each Festival, which includes some disability awareness training. We hope that this will help to make your visit to the Festival more enjoyable.
We are fully committed to developing our organisation moving forward and welcome approaches from individuals and organisations about issues around accessibility.
Please contact our Festival Manager, Julia Lilof: [email protected] or call 01484 951108 and she will contact you at a convenient time.
In addition to AccessAble and Stagetext, we have worked with many local organisations such as Creative Minds, Hoot Creative Arts, Huddersfield Town Foundation, Glint, S2R (Support to Recovery), Special Autism Services, South West Yorkshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust and Words for Wellbeing, and we welcome approaches from relevant organisations.
Please contact our Festival Director, Michelle Hodgson: [email protected] or call 01484 951108 and she will contact you at a convenient time.
