Thirty years’ ago today, The Wasp Factory by Iain Banks was first published. Since that date, many thousands of people have read the darkly funny tale of Frank’s strange adventures.

The book was published on Iain Banks’ 30th birthday – today should have been his 60th…

A Celebration of the Life and Works of Iain (M) Banks takes a look back at his career, including never before heard insights into how he got published, what happened on the publicity tours, the poetry he wrote, music he composed and an overview of his science fiction writing.

All of the contributors have something new and fascinating to say about the man and his work – this truly will be a unique event.

The afternoon of events runs from 2.00-7.00pm on Saturday 15 March at the University of Huddersfield (Tickets: £12 (£10 conc) for the whole afternoon of events).

Book your ticket now through the LBT box office.
